What would be nice is a best practice that is categorised e.g. Connectivity --> Oracle, DB2, Sql Server etc could show examples of what should be in the odbc.ini, uvconfig and dsenv files. Pointers to watch out for when setting up connectivity e.g. security issues, database client issues etc.

What I'm trying to get at is a set of great examples for installing DataStage on Unix platforms. I know the install and Upgrade guides that Ascential offers outline some things, but they tend to show only the simplest examples. A case in point, we were trying to connect to Sql Server and just could not get it right. I asked a friend to send me an example and discovered that we needed the port number after the IP address. This was not documented in the Ascential documentation.
