ODBC trouble on Windows XP PRo

Post by I_Server_Whale »

Greetings Everyone,
 Please HELP me out. I'm new to datastage and new to this forum. I'm trying to extract a sequential file, transform it and load it into a ODBC target.
I have Windows XP Pro as OS. And the database is MS SQL Server.
I created everything in the Datastage Designer as per the tutorial.
The problem is that I'm having trouble configuring the ODBC stage.
And I have no idea of how to set-up the ODBC in Windows XP.

I have tried a few things like going to "Administrative tools" and adding the "user DSN" and "System DSN". But I get errors when I try to validate or run the job. Did I miss anything while installing Datastage itself? Or am I not configuring the ODBC stage properly? Or did I screw up things with the DSN's? :?: I'm getting no where. Please help me out. Thank you so much,

Sincerely,
Naveen.

From the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources(ODBC), setup a System DSN using the SQL-Server driver. If you setup this correctly, then DataStage will be able to use it.

Your problem is not DataStage, it is your configuration.

Ken is right. Please post only once and in the correct forum. In an effort to consolidate and organize let's continue any discussion of this thread at http://dsxchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=91084
