RSS feed message date/time

Post by lgharis »

All messages in my RSS feed have a date of 12/31/1969 6:00 PM. I know some of us live in the past, but all of us on the same date/time. Kind of scary. I am using SharpReader. Is this a problem with the feed or the reader?

That date looks suspiciously like "just before 01/01/1970", which is the base date for so many things. I'd suspect the problem is in the feed.
Is anyone else getting this date? Does anyone else even look at the date?!!

Hmm... I use Trillian Pro. No dates are displayed, as far as I know, so can't really help here. :?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention folks. I also use Trillian Pro and have never even seen an RSS date before today.

Ray was right as usual--the feed was misreading the post's timestamp (it didn't even recognize that it was a timestamp) and thus spitting out the date of the unix epoch (or the day before). :?

The issue should now be resolved. Thanks again for letting us know about this. :D
