Is there a sql server plug-in for parallel cancas

Hi All

How can i connect to sql-server from parallel extender.
I dont see a odbc stage on my parallel canvas pallatte.I only have it on my
serve canvas.
Does Ascential sell SQL SERVER plugins for PX???

This has been raised quite a few times before. You will need to get a 3rd party product to provide an ODBC connection to SQL Server from Unix. Microsoft do not provide a Unix client or Unix ODBC drivers for SQL Server, and what a big surprise that is.

I haven't tested this yet but DataStage 7.1 comes with a dynamic RDBMS stage which offers a single plugin for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Informix, Sybase and ODBC data sources. Apparently it uses native connectivity for many of these. This may give you access to SQL Server databases from Unix though you may need some type of Windows bridging software so your Unix server can locate your Windows based database.

I am not sure if this stage is available in the PX version.
