[AD] Export/Import thro command line

Post by admin »

Hi Rohan,

we needed such a tool already in version 3.x for the export and import of
single Jobs, though it was (and is still) not available from Ascential we
wrote it ourself.

We updated this tool for version 5.x and it works also for 6.x. (7x we did
not test yet).

Our company does sell this tool, which does import, export and compile from
commandline.

Wolfgang

Still just one project at a time, as far as I know. However, if you go over
to Ascential's AND site, there is a batch file uploaded in their Product
Application File Library that will automatically find and export *all*
project on a server one after another. Takes a little bit to setup and isn't
quite as robust as the authors would like it to end up being, but it *does*
work.

Look for DSCMDIMPORT.EXE and DSCMDEXPORT.EXE where your client is installed.

As at version 5.2, it will only export an entire project. Maybe this has
improved in later versions.

Hi All,

Can we export/import all the jobs from a category through command line.
I mean to say instead of using a DataStage Manager, can I do this through
the command prompt itself ?

Thanks & Regards,
Rohan A. Kembhavi
