Enhancing the DataStageXchange Community

Post by Baldmartyr »

The November Newsletter is now out. It addresses steps to improve the DataStageXchange community. Let us know what you believe should be the first priority addressed.

This would perfectly compliment what Ascential would do with their forums -- but allow US to provide solutions rather than depend on them to do so.

Of course, bulking up the third party tools would be benefitical for us all, as it would address the holes we have on DataStage and other tools.

All are good ideas:
1)Enable users to upload screen shots, routines, helpful documents, etc.
2)Provide free and commercial software tools to assist data integration
3)Provide web based training on Ascential products

I have a feeling the community will favor choice 1, and its a good idea. Of course tools are great, and I know many of us have little utitilies or really simple programs that would fall under the 'free' category. I encourage the user community to share any time saving utility, no matter how small the tool may seem. As for training, to me its really simple to read the manual and play around and move from beginner to intermediate. I'd like to see any training focus on intermediate to expert phases, and maybe delve into some 'guru' topics.

Please implement all three things that will really help us.
