AxcelPack with DS 5.2 on Sun Solaris

Wonder if anybody (other than me) faced the problem that "Allow Multiple instances" - option remains disabled despite activation of AxcelPack during installation of DataStage ...

Sorry, I do not have much experience with Axcel Path. Which version of DS did you install?

In theory at least, Axcel Pack was very short lived; it was only in 5.1, so you shouldn't be seeing it in 5.2 at all except maybe the very first release. Was your job updated from 5.1? A newly-created job in 5.2 or later should automatically have the "allow multi-instance" check box enabled.

ray.wurlod, you're absolutely right with your assumption, it was short lived and the version of DS 5.2 is indeed that early that Ascential still calls it "5.1.0"

Sorry about that !

But still - I'd be very interested in any hints (other than reinstallation)
about how to deal with that phenomenon.

It should be sufficient to license AxcelPack.
If that doesn't work, either save your job with a different name, or export and re-import it. That should pick up the new settings. There should be no need to re-install, as the presence/absence of AxcelPack is determined each time a job is created.

Running an update on our DS-installation (ie licensing AxcelPack) solved the problem. Still wondering why it didn't show up after initial installation, but a bit more relaxed than before
