We want to be able to control an NT batch file from a UNIX host running DataStage?
Has anyone done this, and if so how, and what are the considerations to take into account.

Even NT to NT is a pain. I believe that others have used the AT command to schedule a command on another NT server.
As for Unix, Microsoft have a pack called "Microsoft Services fir Unix 2.0 Add-On Pack"
Amongst other things, this includes the following services in NT:
Client, server and gateway for NFS
Telnet Server
Remote Shell Service
CRON Service
Unix Shell and Utilities
Im sure you dont need any further explanation as to how these might be useful. I have no information as to the cost of these.
Most of these utilities will run on NT 4 SP 4 Workstation or Server and Windows 2000 Pro or Server.
