Surrogate Key stage issue

Post by nehavin »

We recently migrated the OS from Sun Solaris to some Linux version. However, all jobs using the surrogate key tab in transformer are aborting. There are over 600 odd jobs. The source is specified as file. Is there something we missed or the only way to fix the issue is recreate the surrogate key source file and execute the jobs again?

Welcome. It would probably be helpful if you shared the actual abort / error message with us.

Did you migrate the SK state file? It's likely there's some kind of incompatibility (possibly something as simple as byte order).

My advice would be to re-create the SK state file. You can get the values from the old system and initialize the state file with those.

Assuming that your migration included the surrogate key files to new Linux platform, couple of things you could check:

1. if the files have been moved by the deployment team properly (as these are binary files) without errors
2. if the files have got any unusual permission attributes for making it inaccessible

As chulett said, the errors which you get in job failure will only give us some idea.
