unable to start installation wizard ver11.5.0.1 OS rhel7

Post by tatata »

hello Im installing information server 11.5 on rhel7.
I have installed datastage on rhel6 with no problem, but I guess something is different on rhel7(Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.0 (Maipo))

after kicking seup.sh the url for installation wizard is displayed.
However as I enter the url to browser, the installation wizard won't start.
( the browser returns "unable to show this page please check the url")
things that I have done different from rhel 6 is disabling firewalld instead of iptables. are there any other settings that must be done on rhel7 before installation?

I have executed netstat -antu and it returned below, so I guess it is
listeining to 8446

tcp6 0 0 :::8446 :::* LISTEN

thank you

Silly question, perhaps, but is RHEL7 a supported platform?

Okay. So you're running on either IBM z Systems or x86-64 hardware and confirmed via the "Notes" column that all required bits are in place as well?

Well done on diagnosing that. :D

I've always found it curious that you have to start the installation program to be advised to disable the firewall.
