Correct Syntax for dscmdexport command ?

Post by abbhi »

Saw number of post on this but not able to figure out the correct syntax of this command . I have tried all possible options according to me but getting error:

Attaching to 'dstage1' ...
dscmdexport aborted:
Failed to attach to the project

dscmdexport /D=domainname /H=hostname /U=username /P=password projectame C:\Desktop\project.dsx

Please help me in identifying the issue in the above command.

Thanks,
Abhishek

Project name must be spelled correctly and the correct casing used.

Project name im taking backup of is 'dstage'.

So it makes the command as :

dscmdexport /D=domainname /H=hostname /U=username /P=password dstage C:\Desktop\project.dsx

Is this correct ? or I have to add anything else ?

Thanks,
Abhishek

Does it work for you?

The actual syntax can be found in the IBM Knowledge Center.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I am still not able to run the dscmdexport command on my system.
Though dsexport command works for me and both the command has similar syntax.
I wanted to test dscmdexport , just wanted to check the diff in the output of both the commands.

Also,
one more question related to this, if i do my project export via dsexport. So next time if i run it again it will take all the jobs or it will only take the modified things and update the same dsx. I think it will export all jobs again regardless of the change.
So do we have this functionality which only picks changes and dont pick all the jobs. This will save time during the export ?

Let me know for any questions.

If you are using the same values that work for dsexport and they do not for dscmdexport, then I would suggest you involve support.

As to your one more question, it always exports everything.
