DataStage® Release: 11x
Job Type: Parallel
OS: Unix
Hi

We intend to create new asset types & wish to include/encapsulate some native asset types as part of the hierarchy.
e.g System > Application > Host > Database > Schema > Column
here System & Application are new asset types.

Please advice.

You can use metadata extensions, or Open IGC, to generate these. Ernie Ostic has very useful blogs on both (you can access these from his signature block).

You can connect core core and bundle assets via lineage but cannot mix them in your modeling efforts...

Thanks for Reply Ernie.

How can I represent native metadata ( e.g data model, BI model, extension mappings etc ) in Flow xml ? from your blog - I could figure out for database and files. There's no documentation on knowledge center also.

Also how can I enrich the "flow" like when I hower over a link - along with source and target detail ( like extension mapping document )?

Please help.

Sorry...missed your earlier posts. Any kind of core asset that is available for lineage (tables, columns, bi reports and collections, datastage jobs, any OpenIGC bundles, data files, etc.) can ...
