Reading ,Writing German and Portuguse data from Datastage

Reading German and Portuguse data from Datastage and Write data into a File and Database.

We have German and Portuguse Data in the database.The database is configured with the UTF-8.While Reading The data and writing into A File from the database, The data is written as junk characters in a file while reading is proper in database.
The configuration at project level is set up as UTF-8.Please let me know what else should be done at the job level and at AIX

What's the character set (code page) that the database is using?

I think you need to see the database settings. The Brazilian and Portugese data will mostly be a double byte character set which may not be written through DataStage using UTF-8.
