New methods of file transfer other than FTP

Post by bcarlson »

Our site no longer allows FTP to be used for file transfers. We must use some kind of secure transfer.

Is there a possibility that DataStage may incorporate a plug in for sftp, scp or, better yet, for NDM? We can't be the only people handling sensitive data, so why is FTP the only option?

Or are there other options, I just haven't looked in the right place yet?

Brad.

Version 8.0 has an SFTP Enterprise stage.
As for now, you can wrap your sftp in a script and call that from DataStage.

we used an after job script with ssh to to move a file across a secure network connection. You need to know how to create and use ssh. I had a document ,but i have lost it now..

You can use psftp or fsecure to transfer files using secure FTP.
