non-Ascential ODBC drivers give strange results

Post by MickO »

When we create jobs using the MS SQL ODBC driver, we get unpredictable results, seeming to often go into infinite loops during staging, producing a never-ending stream of junk records from a 2-row
source table in MS SQL 2000. This wasted us a couple of mandays until we fixed the problem by using the Ascential-supplied ODBC driver instead of the Microsoft-supplied one. Is this normal?

Which version of Data Stage?
Was it 7.5.1a?
We also had simliar problem, for which an ODBC related patch was supplied by the Ascential.

Yes, 7.5.1a. Can you give us the patch numbers? Also, after the patch, are you using the Ascential drivers rather than the Microsoft or Oracle supplied driver?
