Hi Lorry,

How often do you clear your logs? Most of the time lack of space is due to
lengthy log files. First I would check your logs and clear them from the
director. The files such as DS_JOB# and RT_BP## are for each DataStage job
that is in your project, where # is the job id. Actually the file (table
depending upon how you are looking at them) RT_LOG# contains your log info
for each datastage job, and once again # indicates your job number. You
might want to see how much space the RT_LOG# directories are taking up. If
they are taking up a lot of space, then clear the job logs from the
director. I wouldnt delete these files.

Hey all !
I am trying to determine the appropriate clean-up activity in the DataStage Project area. We are running DS on Unix - AIX. The directory is filled with RT_CONFIG#, RT_STATUS#, RT_BP#, RT_LOG#, DS_TEMP#, DS_JOB#. Some entries pertty old. Doesnt DS handle its own clean-up or are we missing a procedure to do this. I do not have the CDs. The DS Projects are getting full and the admins are complaining. Thanks in advance! Lorry _________________________________________________________________

DS Project Clean-up

Post by admin »

There is a file in your DS project called DS_JOBS that contains the job names and numbers associated with all the files created for each job (RT_, DS_, etc...). If you are familiar with working in universe, you would need to set your path accordingly, uv into your project area and SORT DS_JOBS. From there you should be able to determine which job files you can safely remove. This would also presume that you are familiar with universe DELETE.FILE verb. Do NOT just remove the files at unix level.
