UV Stage Compatablility

We are running DS 4.0 on NT. We query to a UniVerse database on a Compaq Alpha/Unix platform. We would like to upgrade the UniVerse database on the Alpha to version 9.6.1.9-1. About 6-8 months ago I tried this on a test platform and the UniVerse version in DS 4.0 was not compatable with the BCI software in UV 9.6 (i.e. unable to connect to the UV database on Unix). Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved? Is anyone else using this same versioning scenario successfully? I contacted DS support here in the States, but apparently they are closed because of the massive snow storms on the east coast.
