Problem scheduling: DeleteExpiredTaskAfter

Post by sopsiac »

Yes, I know: we're living in 2018 and I'm posting talking about DataStage 7.5.2 and Windows 2008.... I know, I know...

After a patch (KB4103718) we have a problem scheduling task: you can create a task with Director but when the time is gone, the task just disappear.

The XML generated add an new tag:

<Settings>
<DeleteExpiredTaskAfter>PT0S</DeleteExpiredTaskAfter>
</Settings>

This tag causes an error on the Task Manager.

Anybody has any idea to solve this problem? (Yes, we're thinking about migrate to a new version, yes...)

Best regards

Uninstall the patch? Apparently it's a known problematic update on Windows 7.

Yes, that could be the best opcion, but the Systems guys are worried about the updates and, initially, they would not want to uninstall it :(

Well, DataStage is a victim here, not the culprit so IMHO you need to work this from the Windows side, perhaps even engaging Microsoft support. A quick google for the element (DeleteExpiredTaskAfter) name brings up discussions that to me seem similar to what you are seeing and might have some solutions for you buried in them somewhere. One such example here.
