DataStage® Release: 8x
Job Type: Parallel
OS: Unix
Hi

Need some help with an issue. Searched the forum but couldnt get a solid clue yet.

I am having set of jobs which extract data from DB2 in which there is a description field carrying valid values with accentuated charaters è (like in Tresèmè). Final output is a CFF which gets loaded back to mainframe using copybook.

Job1:
DB2 --> DatasetTgt

Job2:
DatasetTgt --->Oracle table

Job3:
DatasetTgt --> CFF

Current setting in CFF stage for that field:
Native type = Character
Extended=Unicode
NLS map=Default

All jobs have char/unicode combination for that field and working fine and readable when checked in the target except for Job3. When the final CFF from Job3 is loaded in mainframe, it is not showing the names 'Tresèmè' as read from the source rather it is showing like X'543947...Please let me know if there is anything missing or any field setting in CFF w.r.t NLS etc. Appreciate your response.

Thanks

What is the default NLS character map setting on this project?

Job runs with the project default of ISO-8859-1. I tried changing it earlier with couple of others like UTF-16 in that job which creates the CFF but of no use. As that project default works for Dataset and Oracle columns, I have been trying to know as what would be the NLS which is compatible to store such characters in CFF alone. Any thoughts please?
