Unable to access Project - Session Expired issue

Post by karthi_gana »

Hi All,

I have been facing a weird issue with respect to accessing project since last week.

When I try to login in Datastage Designer, I am getting the below issue.

------------------------------------------------
The session [5CDF8D5D-22A1-406E-A4CB-5811BFACB2C3] has expired or was not found.
-----------------------------------------------

Error Details:

Product Version: 9.1.2.0
Operating System: Windows 7 6.1 Service Pack 1
.NET Framework version: 4.0.30319.34209

Exception type: com/ascential/asb/util/security/SessionExpiredException
Exception message: The session [5CDF8D5D-22A1-406E-A4CB-5811BFACB2C3] has expired or was not found.

I am able to login "Datastage Director & Administrator" with the same userid & password, I don't know why it is not working only for "Datastage Designer".

Note:

1) I have used the same project in all the tools
2) I have also enabled "Do Not Time Out" option in Datastage Administrator
3) I have checked the required permission for the user id, It looks fine.

Finally, We suggested the admin team to uninstall Datastage Designer from my machine and reinstall the same once again. They did that, But no use, the issue is not yet resolved.

What is the issue here? what is causing this issue? How to resolve it?

Experts inputs are welcome!

Did you try logging in from someone else's workstation? It could be specific to that machine.

Also, when they uninstall you might want them to uninstall all DataStage software and manually delete all folders, or use RevoUninstaller to cleanly uninistall for you.

Try someone else's box.

All, This issue is fixed now. I am able to open Designer.

Internet Explorer was crashed in that machine, so i removed it and re-installed it once again in that machine. i did this just to use IE. But When I open Datastage Designer, It just opened :) I dont believe it..How? I really don't understand the connection between IE and Designer startup.

There are probably some DLLs common to both.
