The xml Input stage supports "pass thru". For clarity, what I like to do is have an indepenent column that "carries" your filename.....so (for example), create a column in a transformer called "passthruFileName".... put that same column on the input link and output link of your xmlInput Stage and it should carry thru just fine (leaving the rest of your links the same).

We assume that you are still parsing the xml that is coming in......so just add your passthru column to the bottom of the output link.....THAT column will have nothing in the desc......the others will have valid xpath.....
