Using JP and KR Rulesets

Post by emeri1md »

Is anyone else here using the Japanese or Korean rulesets? We just upgraded to 8.1 (on Windows), which did fix one issue, but led us to another.

Apparently, it is expected that the Japanese data will be in Japanese, so the Classification table still lists the Japanese characters. Unfortunately, DataStage cannot seem to process them correctly and errors out. Even if it could render them, the data itself is in English/romanji.

Has anyone successfully standardized Japanese or Korean data on a computer set to Enlgish where the data is also in English?

Did you really 'bump' a post from Apr 2010? When the current version was 8.1 and the NOW current version is 11.5? :D :D :D :D :D

In any event, 8.5 and later support this with the TOK statement. In fact, there are out-of-the-box rules for HK data in Latin.

Please see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledge ... nizer.html and let me know if this helps.

Good luck!
