data stage installation

I am trying to install DataStage 7.5 on my laptop,but it already has an existing version of 8.1.If i have to install 7.5 do i need to uninstall the existing version in order to install 7.5. Can somebody suggest me on this how to do it.

You should be good. 7.5 and 8.1 can co-exist on the same server. Use the Multi-Client Manager to switch between the versions.

You will need to specify an -itag option so that the second installation uses different shared memory key. Read all about it in the installation instructions.
