Hello all,

Can anyone please tell me if the dataStage's Universe database(repostory) is Relational and Hierachial database?

Also can you please give me few differences between relational and hierachial databases?

It can be either, it can also be a non-first-normal-form (NFNF or NF2) database. It doesn't matter; it does the job. As implemented for DataStage Repository, the best description is a non-first-normal-form database.

The DataStage Engine database ceased to be called UniVerse with effect from version 6.0, which was the first version of DataStage to be released after Informix sold UniVerse (and several other database products) to IBM in 2000.
