matching problem

Post by Jay »

hi all

we had problem in the QualityStage...

two rows for example:

234 High Road, Apt 987
234 High Road, Apt 687

could not be differentiated. we set the
match cutoff to 75 and clerical cutoff to 0 (should this be negative)
dis-agreement to -10.

i dont know where i am going wrong. some help is highly appreciated.

thanks in advance

What were the agreement score and disagreement score on the second row? Make sure both your cutoffs are between these two values if you need to discriminate.

I am going to give you the best consultant answer and say "It depends" :)
Truely, you have to check the other fields in the record if these two addresses are two different ones, or just a typo. What are the other attributes? If they are the same, you want these two addresses to be gropued together. If they are not, you can use other attributes in the match process to differentiate these two rows.

Hope this helps..

Thanks Pilot...all the other fields are identical...out of about 50,000 rows only 2 showed this problem....might just be a typo...but i have no way of verifying that!!!

Thanks

Jay, to me it looks like a type problem. Consult with the business people before you make this decision though. They may want to send this to the clerical review. Good luck..
