CADRES/CANAME rulesets

Post by PilotBaha »

I have noticed that the Canadian rule sets do not have necessary rules to:
a. distinguish
b. handle

French vs. English names. At least, that is the impression I have through the data rule analyzer at the GUI environment. I know submitting names through CANAMES once and FRNAMES followed by that is not an option.

Any simple/fast/easy to implement solution on this, besides merging two rulesets together?

Thanks,

Couple Ideas,

Is there an easy way to distinquish English vs. French names? I would not expect it, but thought that I would ask. If so, pipe the french names to FRNAMES and others to CANAMES.

Another option is to Standardize all the records with CANAMES.... then run the Unhandled French names through the FRNAMES rule set.

You can merge rulesets together... but that is a pretty messy process.

PS: I would be interested in other approaches. You might want to register this question on Ascential Developer Network as well. There are a number of QS developers monitoring that site.
