DATASTAGE MULTI VERSION INSTALLATION ON SAME MACHINE.

Hi

Can i get any Docs to assist me in installing the multi version of datastage in the same Machine

my server is a Sun solaris Machine

DS:7.5 and DS7.5.1a i need to install in same machine but differnt partition..

can any one help me out in this...

The Install and Upgrade Guide has this information, and you can search this forum for more.

You need to allocate different memory keys if you want both versions to be simultaneously operable.

Yes, he is referring to that section. In addition to having a different shared memory segment base address, all of the clients that connect to DataStage need to differentiate between the instances by using different port numbers, which are appended to the connection ip address.

Install DS 7.5 as you would normally
Install DS 7.5.1.a using the "-itag" option

Hi,

We have DS 7.5 on the server@AIX and i tried to install 7.5.1 client components. It is incompatable as concerned to client and server.

That's right - they're incompatible. What did you expect?

You can install multiple versions of the server (this post) and you can install multiple versions of the client (search for details) using the multi-client manager to switch between them.
