Partitions on source database

Post by sathyanveshi »

Hi,

I forgot to ask this question in my previous post.

Do we need a partitioned database as the source to use Parallel Extender?

Cheers,

No. For a non-partitioned database DataStage simply opens multiple cursors. If the database is capable of parallel execution, this can be used to some advantage.
