Unbalanced input from partition

Can someone please shed some light on the cause and resolution of the following warning messages:

APT_ParallelSortMergeOperator(5),9: Unbalanced input from partition 0: 10000 records buffered

APT_ParallelSortMergeOperator(5),9: (no further unbalance warnings will be issued for this partition)

I get LOTS of these pairs and I don't know why or how to get rid of them.

Give some more information like your job design, partition configuration, APT_Config file etc.
