data set compression

I noticed a new IBM technote published recently. I don't have the link handy at the moment... Has anyone had a chance to test this to see how it affects job duration, CPU, and storage?
Problem:
Add support for dataset compression.
Resolution:
Add the environment variable APT_DS_COMPRESSION=1 to enable dataset compression.
