Craig - be careful - you are dating yourself here :D

So Craig, tell me, what was it like back in the day when you had to actually open the cabinet of the hardware to perform a reboot?

I know, I know... I try not to think of those days... all them switches and dials, blinking lights and spinning tape reels... [shudder]

What, no punched cards, paper tape, drum storage... ?

(Been there, done that.)

Five 19 inch platters for 80MB of disk storage?
Been there, done that also.

Who said there was none of that? Well... no drum but I've seen plenty of the others and 8-inch floppies to boot. Heck, the first system I worked on professionally had a CDC (Hawk?) drive with one fixed platter and a removable cartridge... and from what I recall they held 5 MEGABYTES apiece. Big stuff back in the day.

Sorry for the derail.
