Post by chanaka »

Hi Experts,

Has anyone used the lumask setting while using datastage SFTP stages? Is it supported?

Do you actually mean "umask"?

There is a place buried somewhere in unix that allows the unix admin to control the umask setting for files created via file transfer sessions. This is different than the umask command in each user's .profile file. Ask your unix admin.

lumask ("local umask") is an interactive command available in some SFTP implementations that allows you to set the umask for any files that are downloaded.

Interesting... no such thing came up when I searched for it last year, other than "Luminosity Mask" and I figured that wasn't it. ;)
