Login Issues

Post by Alink »

I have 4 users created in the windows, All with proper groups assignment and given access rights through the DS Administrator.

None of the 4 users can login :cry:

The login only happens if i add these users to the administrator group. But then if users get the admin access they have access to virtually everything in DS.

E.G.

UserName = Bob
Memeber of = DSDeveloper
Password = ***

From DS Administrator
DSDeveloper is given User Role DataStage Developer.

Bob cant login with the error = Invalid Username /Password (80011)

Change:

UserName = Bob
Memeber of = DSDeveloper and Admistrator
Password = ***

Same settings in DS Administrator.

Bob can now log in ... but now can login to any project any application.

It would be great is someone can help me.
Thanks and Regards

Try logging in with fully qualified names, for example Machine1\Bob.

Did you restart DataStage, so that it re-reads the .operator.adm and .developer.adm files?

Don't forget that the Windows user account must have the correct windows file permissions on the DataStage server install directories and the projects they require access to.
