Loading Excel into Hortonworks

Hello Friends,
Can anyone done this and let me know how to load an excel file into Hortonworks?

Break down the problem into two parts. (1). Read an excel file with DataStage. This is done using the Unstructured Stage. Get that working sending the data to something simple, like a local Sequential File. (2). Work on loading hdfs or hive in Hortonworks. This might be the FIle Connector, or the ODBC Connector, or the JDBC Connector, or the Hive Connector, depending upon your release, your performance requirements, your drivers available, skill sets, etc.
Once both are working, put them together.....don't try to do this all in one step.
