Xmeta versus Universe

Post by Poovalingam »

Hi,
I found one sql to query DS_JOBOBJECTS in Universe to get the list of jobs using the column name with pattern XXX. I think after 8 version we do have Xmeta database contains all meta information.
Does it mean datastage maintains 2 meta data repository, one in Universe and another in Xmeta after 8X? Shall we completely trust Universe meta data information? Please advise your comments.

Thanks & Regards,
Poovalingam.

... except DS_AUDIT, which now seems to be less complete than before.

Duly noted. Is there an equivalent in XMETA?

Yes and no. Auditing of security events is handled in audit log files (outside of XMETA). Date/time created/modified are recorded in XMETA, and reported via tools such as Information Governance Catalog or Metadata Workbench.
