Uninstall of 8.1 failed

Post by bcarlson »

I had problems with my DS8.1 install, so it was recommended that I uninstall and then reinstall from scratch. I had DS7.5 and 8.1 FP2, with the Multi-Client Manager. I got 7.5 uninstalled, but now am unable to run the uninstall for DS8.1.

When I try to uninstall, I get "The java class is not found: run"

Any suggestions?

Brad.

Method: I used the Add/Remove programs, chose IBM Information Server and clicked the Change/Remove button. That's when I get the Java. I also tried to run the uninstall.exe itself under the IBM\InformationServer directory structure.

Has anyone ever run into this before?

Any suggestions?

In 8.1, if you get such error, you generally need to use java which is not part of already installed product.

So if you have installable of 8.1 or FP1 or FP2, go to that directory, search for java path and set JAVA_HOME to that directory and then try to run the un-installation program.

Or run uninstall.exe from the installable binaries, if you have it.
