ettain group has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Data Warehouse Developer

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Terms/ length of assignment: Contract to Hire, Direct Placement

Position Description/Duties:

1. Lead or support the design and implementation of ETL/Data Movement in support of Data Warehouse and other projects.
2. Manipulate data into and out of various data sources including: Teradata, Oracle, Mainframe DB2, UDB DB2, and SQL Server
3. Lead or support the ETL/Data Movement changes in business units aligning with systems and attain business benefits.
4. Serve as the source for ETL/Data Movement knowledge, collaborating with business users to solve analytical, statistical, and reporting needs in support new or changed ETL/Data Movement.
5. Lead and manage small projects or components of large projects with the proper project management leadership, communications and administrative processes.
6. Mentor, guide, and educate other Junior engineers along with other IT staff.
7. Work directly with customer contacts and conduct presentations.
8. Recognize and articulate business/technical decision trade-offs.
9. Lead or serve as a member of a team of Data Specialists in driving ETL/Data Movement change design, implementation and benefits attainment.
10. Enforce adherence to IT development methodology
11. Collaborate with Business and IT peers.
12. Interface with IT Architecture to understand available technology.
13. Stay abreast of the customer's business and industry to develop solutions.
14. Ensure projects incorporate proper IT testing and QA methodologies necessary to achieve business results.
15. Participate in rotational production support of production systems.


Qualifications/ Required Skills include:

1. Broad experience with IBM DataStage (formerly Ascential) and other ETL tools.
2. Extensive knowledge of sourcing data from Teradata, DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server, having demonstrated proficiency with SQL in a multi-platform environment. Mainframe exposure and knowledge a plus.
3. Comprehensive understanding of how the physical data structures impact the performance of business intelligence applications and can make specific recommendations to optimize delivery.
4. Six or more years experience in a large business intelligence, data warehouse (Teradata preferred) or enterprise-reporting projects applying a variety of reporting tools to deliver solutions following a structured methodology.
5. Six or more years experience in Retail Consumer Goods with deep-rooted domain knowledge in Finance, Category Management, Marketing, Store Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
6. Experience with Teradata BTEQ and scripting is preferred.
7. Tactical visionary, strategic thinker, creative problem solver and analytic professional with enterprise perspective and broad business and technology acumen.
8. Solid understanding of current applications and trends in Data Warehousing and ETL.
9. Able to read, write and speak English proficiently and be an effective verbal and written communicator.
10. Strong computer skills including a working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
11. Strong interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills.
