Sure - sorry, didn't see this earlier.

First of all, only 11.3.1 supports Oracle RAC. All databases except Information Analyzer (IADB) and the QualityStage Match Designer Database (MDDB) can be on the RAC. The other two can be on Oracle but do not support RAC.

During installation you must install directly to a single database node, and then switch to RAC afterwards. As always, refer to the 11.3.1 Planning, Installation and Configuration guide for details on switching from standard Oracle settings to RAC configuration.

Thank you for your responses. We are planning to install 11.3.1.

The manual indicates that the operations database, standardization rules designer database and exceptions database can be installed as schemas in XMETA, then goes on to recommend against this at least for production. But they can be in database(s) on Oracle RAC.

The real question is this: given that Information Server does not support Oracle RAC configurations of the Information Analyzer analysis database or the QualityStage Match Designer database, can these databases be installed on a single node of the RAC, or must a completely separate database be organized?

Thank you for your time.

Sure - they can be on a single node of the RAC, you'll just have to specify the entry correctly (database name, SID, port) to get there.
