Connecting from PS Client/server to PSDB repository

Hi all,

While connecting from a Windows machine having PS CLient and PS Analysis Server to a Windows machine having PSDB Repository(DB2 Database) and PS Message switch ,I get an error saying the message switch on the particular machine i am trying to connect failed.

So let me know how do i establish a connection.

Hi Manyli,

Jus to inform you that only after reading all the profile stage manuals,I tried connecting PS Client/Server on one machine to PSDB repository/MSg Switch on other machine and got the above error.

Also i tried installing and uninstalling a couple of times but in vain.

So Please let me know how do i go about on this.

Make sure that the MSGSwitch up and run.And make sure there's only one MSGSwitch installed (on ur server), can only hv 1 msgswitch in ur c/s environment.

Then:
1.make sure u can connect to a SQL based repository. this wl make sure that ur client is good.
2. Using the ascential DB2 drv to create the ODBC, and need make sure below is correct during the odbc setup:
General tab:
ip address
tcp port
database name

advanced tab:
check both :with hold cursors and application using thread

then test connection.


then u wl be fine.


And u may need completely uninstall everything both on ur server and client. u need clear the psdb on database, and clear registery table and all related folder on any pc,server.

Also keep in mind that the sequence how u install is very important.
ascential PS is not very user friendsly both on intsallation and usage... to be honest.
