Can't find Message Switch

We just installed ProfileStage 7.0.1 on a PC, with all components local, and it says "Message switch is unavailable - please start the Message Switch service to allow analysys to be performed".

Any sugegstions?

I don't know what caused this problem, but uninstalling and reinstalling got rid of it.

Hi,

Did you go into Services and check for the Profile Stage Message Switch " MGXSwitch" , before doing that check the Initialization ".ini" file available in the Client if there is an entry for the Message Switch, as you have installed all the compnents locally, go into"C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc" and make an entry in the "hosts" file as follows

127.0.0.1 localhost

and restart your machine it should work.

Yes, I did that...

I've the same problem when I install ProfileStage 7.5 Build 18 on Windows XP SP2

Any sugestions are welcome?

Hi Erik,

Is your platform Windows XP Professional edition which is the supported platform? I have seen the same error with the Home edition which is not supported for ProfileStage.

Yes, the platform is Windows XP Professional, which is supported.

Hi Mahesh,

I do have the same kind of problem while installing Client/Server in one machine and PSDB Repository/Msg Switch in other machine.

I tried installing and uninstalling the same but in vain.Can you tell me how do i put the host entry in the client machine .
