Column Analysis and Report show conflicting results

I've observed numerous instances when the column analysis and reports display conflicting results. Some results will be identical and some will differ.
In one instance, looking at the column analysis results, I see that one field has 1 conforming format and 1 violating format. In the Column Profile > Post Review report, it shows 2 conforming format and 0 violating format for the same field.
In another instance, the column analysis shows a field with 1,000 distinct conforming formats and 1 violating format. In the Column Profile > Post Review report, it shows 1 conforming format and 0 violating format for the same field.
I've confirmed that the analysis and report use the same data source.
