Removing White Space

Does Information Analyzer have equivalents of the DataStage functions StripWhiteSpace, CompactWhiteSpace, character-by-character conversion (DataStage's Convert() function), and Trim(string,stripchar,options) ?

They're certainly not documented for IA or available from the drop-down list, but may be possible using the free-form editor?

Our researches so far suggest not, but we live in hope. We prefer not to need to pre-process data before profiling.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but IA only reports on the data it gets.
It can't manipulate it first (Virtual columns can only concatenate fields).
