Copying USPREP rule set

I have made a copy of the USPREP rule set because we want to modify it for a project (i.e. we don't want to make these changes to the original USPREP rule set). The new rule set is named by the copy process to "CopyOfUSPREP" I want to rename it to something more indicative of the project - something like USPREP_ENROLL. I've successfully copied and renamed other types of rule sets before but when I attempt to rename this USPREP set I get a message indicating that I cannot rename it. In fact, long ago I was able to rename a USPREP rule set, now I can't. Can anyone help me to rename the rule set?

You should be able to right click on CopyOfUSPREP and rename it.

Make sure you are not trying to rename USPREP.

If you can't rename the folder, try renaming the SET file.

I haven't tried this in a while and it might have been fixed in 9.1, but if you give your ruleset a name greater than 8 characters, you'll find you can test it just fine, but can't use it in a job.

Thanks guys!

but it's still a problem.

Ray,
It is when I right click on CopyOfUSPREP and attempt to rename it that this error message occurs. It does not let me rename it.

Stuart,
I need to use this CopyOfUSPREP in a job.

Any other ideas on how to rename it?

One way would be to export to DSX and then:

- Change USPREP to the name you want. You'll need to do it for each of the files in the ruleset called USPREP.*, and remember under the .SET file entry it has a list of the files. So they will need to be changed there too.
- Change the folder path away from the standard rulesets
- Set the ReadOnly property to 0 for each of the files
- Presumably you want control over the .TBL files too, so change the names of them and make sure to update the references to them in the .PAT file and also in that file list under the .SET file entry.

Then reimport the DSX.

Hi all,

The trick is to make sure the renamed rule set ENDS in USPREP.

CopyofUSPREP to USPREP_XX will not work. You get the following error message: 'Cannot change a PREP Rule Set to a non-PREP Rule Set and visa versa.'

CopyofUSPrep to XX_USPREP WILL work. QualityStage 'knows' it is a PREP rule set because it ends in PREP....

Robert!

You got it! That worked just great for me!

It's unusual that that restriction does not apply to USNAME, USADDR, etc. but it does to USPREP.

Thanks!

Great!

Yes, it is a bit 'unusual'....

Also (for the record), the XXNAME rule sets will have a similar issue in that the drop-down for 'Process All As Individual', 'Process All as Organization', etc will only appear if the rule set ends in NAME

Good to know - should someone initiate a documentation enhancement request?

I believe there is one, but another one would not hurt...
