The version is 7.5 .still unable to edit derivation in the output of the lookupstage. .anyway I was also rethinking that approach..will try with the transformer and switch as suggested by you....

Hi rajeev, 9 represents numeric ...and thats it...... if there no comp clause to it , as kumar has already metioned the data may containalphanumerics..and if you have checked the data then it is impossible that picture 9 can represent a character.......
