Webinar vNext

Does anyone have any updates on when the next version of Information Server will be released?
The webinar in November was interesting but it's gone quiet since.

Your sql is wrong. and B.ID3 = C.ID3 should be and B.ID3 = D.ID3 back to DataStage and are you trying to do all this is one join stage? The inputs need to be partitioned and sorted correctly so it's not possible to mix several joins using different keys in one join stage. You'll need 3 join stages w...

Can you provide some more details about the job? What are the source and targets? Are you reading from the database in parallel? What else is the job doing if anything? In the checksum what options do you have selected? How is the job partitioned? How large is a row in the table? How have you determ...

What is the source of the census data?
Doesn't the source / supplier have meta data for each one? If not how are you determining what each one contains?

One thing we have done at the hardware level is to carve out the licensed number of cores into a shared cpu pool, which is shared by multiple LPARs. That allows us to stand up a new LPAR having a newer software version, side by side with the existing version (e.g. 11.3 and 11.5). Then we can stay c...

We have limitations on the size of virtual servers (a la carte from 3rd party). The physical servers are larger and cheaper. Two goals for isolation; security and performance impact from other projects / environments. Security is the prime concern though. I think the most flexible approach would be ...

Environment Isolation

On a single large physical server what are the best ways to isolate environments? For example we might have dev, test and uat environments. I could have a simple install with all non client tiers on the one large server, then create a dev, a test and a uat project. Users could have different logins ...

This is not what you would expect. You have also posted about whether the driver might affect the data. Both the functionality and the performance need regression testing after the upgrade to identify such issues and fix them. With regard to the performance issue what else has changed? Are the throu...

Firstly - no need to post the same thing in two places.
Hopefully one of the admins can remove the duplicate in the General section.

Have you checked that diff_3_sku exists on all the input streams and that it is of the same type?

Paul, I'm still not clear on what is required of the file system and what the issues with having a SAN might be. We have two head nodes sharing the compute nodes and some parts of the file system use GPFS e.g. for datasets. I thought this was to allow all the nodes access to specific parts of the fi...

Did you get anywhere with obtaining the grid enablement and the BYOG toolkits?
It appears that at least the former is only available as part of a services engagement and is unsupported.

Are you trying to replicate the functionality of a suite of SAP jobs or each individual SAP job. Perhaps you would be better taking a step back and considering how these cached files are being used in other SAP jobs. That might indicate a variety of options in DataStage of which each may be suited i...

Apart from purging job logs as per project or job level settings what maintenance activities are recommended to ensure DataStage doesn't slow down - in terms of either job performance or responsiveness when opening / editing / compiling jobs? I'd expect some routine tasks would be beneficial on xmet...

IBM support confirmed that the tool only works on 8.5 and above. Therefore need to move jobs to 8.5 or higher to run tool, then move results to 11.5. However because v8 is now out of support they recommended going to 9.1 or 9.1.2 (in case their assistance is required), running the migration tool and...
