Gone Live

I have asked a lot of QualityStage questions here over the past couple of months, and received fast and excellent responses. I am ecstatic to be able to advise that the project went live yesterday and is working well exactly because of the quality of the advice received from DSXchange. My heartfelt ...

Thank you, that works well. Now, of course, "they" want more. The new problem is to find "W =A= "PTY" | O =A= "LTD" anywhere in the string and move it to the end. Examples ALLEN & UNWIN PTY LTD (ok) ALLEN & PTRY LTD UNWIN PTY TLD ALLEN & UNWIN (ok) ALLE...

Name Cleansing PTY LTD

We're now trying to cleanse some name data in which some of the name fields have PTY LTD at the beginning rather than at the end, for example "PTY LTD ACME SYSTEMS". There may be further standardization to be done within the remainder of the name. What we'd like to be able to do, probably ...

Standardized Name

Can someone please explain how a standardized version gets into the {MatchFirstName} field? For example, in USNAME rule set, first name BILL appears as WILLIAM in MatchFirstName, yet in the classification table the entry for BILL is "BILL BILL F". Where did the WILLIAM come from? There is ...

Great advice from you both. Many thanks, we have a working solution. For future searchers, here's what we did. *& = "AUSTPTY", "AUSTRALIAPTY", "PTYLIMIT", "PTYLTD", "PYLTD" CALL CrushedTokens ... \SUB CrushedTokens 0*+ = "AUSTPTY" CONVE...

Adding Tokens

A new week, a new problem. We have some dirty data in which space characters are missing. For example "ACME CHEMICALS PTYLTD" has not space between "PTY" and "LTD". As parsed by AUNAME rule set, this string has three classification tokens (+W+). Is there some way in PAL...

Alas, no, the subject is the entire error message.

We implemented Ray's idea and found a couple of entries in the CLS file in which the first column contained a quoted value. Removing these fixed the problem.

stanName,1: An entry in the classification table is invalid

The error occurred when running a job with a Standardize stage, after 66748 records had been consumed. The rule set is an extension of the AUNAME rule set, with many additional classified tokens. Is there any way to determine which entry in the classification table is invalid? No error occurs when u...

IP Addresses

Does anyone have PAL for validating IPv4 and IPv6 that they can share?

Thank you for your time.
