That's too bad, but at least the changes aren't horrific. I was really hoping to be able to point the applications to the new server and be ready to go.
Thanks for the response, we'll proceed with making changes to fit the new WSDL changes.

WSDL Change from 8.0.1 to 8.5
We're upgrading from 8.0 to 8.5 and noticed this change in comparing the WSDL documents for a particular server between 8.0 and 8.5. In the tag below, 'tns1' was converted to '913670406'. We're trying to minimize the amount of change work needed to our web service applications. Is there a configurat...

Thanks, that helps a alot! We have a high availability environment where the applications and data will be stored on a SAN. There's plenty of space there to hold the IIS installation, other 3rd party apps, and still leave room for data files. I like the idea of keeping the data files local to DataSt...

Best place to keep ETL data files in Linux?
We're in the process of migrating from a Windows platform 7.5.1a version of DataStage to a Linux platform Information Server 8.5 The biggest change, next to 7.5 to 8.5, is the Windows to Linux migration. Normally, all of our sequential file data is stored in it's own folder on a D:\ partitioned driv...

VarChar vs NVarChar ODBC Lookup
Have a situation where an input ODBC field is VARCHAR(10) and a lookup ODBC key field is VARCHAR(10). Both fields are identical and the ODBC lookup is working beautifully. Now, the key field in the ODBC lookup has been changed to NVarChar(10) and the lookup is failing with the VarChar(10) input valu...

No, none of our developers were tied up with the job at the time the error occurred. I've never seen this happen, so I'm guessing it was a coincidental conflict perhaps with our MIMIX High Availability process or maybe virus scanner where either had a hold of the object at the same brief moment the ...

dsjob.exe return code -10
A DataStage job was submitted to start via command line using dsjob.exe and the command failed with return code -10. The DataStage job didn't start. Any idea what -10 return code means?

Red Hat vs. SUSE
We're seriously considering making the "leap" from Windows to Linux for the upcoming 8.5 release of Information Server. One of our decisions is deciding which Linux OS to go with. Curious if anyone has experiences to share with both Red Hat and SUSE and can share a recommendation. Obviousl...

Never heard of the EQUATE function, will have to check that out for other uses! I was trying to handle this in the transformer stage due to other issues with the input file data that wouldn't work in a Sequential file stage (extra line breaks contained inside quoted string data). So my initial tackl...
