Not seen it before, but I don't use CASS on my side of the planet. Have the CASS components been installed on your new server? Are there any rule sets that need to be provisioned? ... Ray, according to our admin, the CASS components have been installed on server and client sides, but that wo...

CASS/USAC error _MWT_UP.CFG
While attempting to execute a CASS (USAC?) stage in ver 8 we receive the message "Error opening _MWT_UP.CFG for read". We can find no reference to this file in the documentation or on the internet. Does anyone know what we need to do to remedy this problem? P.S. this our first execution of...

The problem is that I want to reduce the number of rows that come in for Col Analysis. So, the suggestion to create a virtual table would work (I assume you mean to create an Oracle view on the source table.) However, that is not going to help me in this case as the tables are now all Col Analyzed ...

You can select to profile a sample when you run the column analysis, with options like random x%, or every nth record. Otherwise, create a virtual table with the exact sql you would use to filter on, and then profile the virtual table. Stuart and Ray! Thanks for responding (you can always count on ...

Limiting the number of rows being analyzed
Does anyone know of a creative way to limit the number of rows being analyzed by Info Analyzer for large tables? The WHERE CLAUSE under Project Properties is not very useful. Ideally I'd like to limit by percentage (i.e. I want to analyze a RANDOM 10% of the rows) or better still, by date range (i.e...

Thanks for the response, Stuart! I am getting summary results for SOME of the columns in SOME of the tables, but then 'Error' showing in the summary for the balance of the columns and tables. That does sound like a tablespace problem but our DBAs increased the available space by 2Gb and the result w...

Failed to create FreqDist Summary
After executing a Column Analysis on several Oracle tables I found that several of the columns in a couple of the tables showed "Error" on the Column Analysis screen. I then discovered that I could view a log of errors at Operate>Log Views. The log showed the following message for each of ...

Sequential file default formats
When I put a new or copied sequential file into a DS job the default formats are: Final delimiter = end Delimiter = comma Quote = double But we almost always want to use: Final delimiter = none Delimiter = none Quote = none Is there a way to set up 'none' as the standard default on these so I don't ...

Excellent! Thanks, Robert! There is no action command to do that. However, you can do something like the following... NOTE: @ can be much more than just a simple ABC123XYZ. For example, 123ABC789, ABC123DEF456HIJ... Here is the main pattern action: *@ ;look for complex like ABC123DEF ( COPY [1](c) {...

Extracting middle portion of complex pattern
In QualityStage v7, I have data that is in complex patterns (@) like ABC123XYZ. I know how I can extract the ABC prefix and the XYZ suffix and place them in target variables, but I can't seem to find a way to place the middle portion (123) in a user variable. The prefix, suffix and middle portions c...

UNIX access to QualityStage directories
We have just deployed a QualityStage job while logged in as qsadm. Now we want to have a job scheduler (AutoSys) execute the QS jobs. With qsadm as the owner of the directories and files, this new user (autosys) does not have access to those directories and files. What changes do we need to make in ...
