Usually it happens when your msl file is not in sync with your mmc files. Either a pathing or card problem. For anything prior to 7.n You should be able to create a launcher.txt file. If you already create it look at the last entries.... If not you can turn it on via the mercator.ini file. Point it ...

If it's an xml doc you should be able to import via type designer. I manually defined my tree based on what our needs were and the page on the other end. I used the tree as output, populated it and posted to their URL while executing a runmap. the runmap then listens for the response. The response r...

I'm not sure what to tell you here other than both should work. I haven't actually tried initiating a transaction the way you sound like you need. Ours are setup with a secure connection and the page we hit is static. I defined my tree based on their page and capture the page they respond with. Ther...

If you are initiating the transaction you shouldn't require the event server. You do need the ES (or equivelant service) if someone/something else is initiating the transaction and you want to listen for it. If once you've initiated the transaction you need to wait for a response, use runmaps. Map1 ...

What I always thought was interesting was Ascential always led me to believe that Hawk was there next version of DSTX. But going to user group meetings I felt they used it for both DS and DSTX. That the products were going to be merged into one. When I tested the beta DSTX 8.0 it was referred to as ...

Not sure I understand your question. We use the Event Agent for our web related traffic. Theres a session timeout setting. So, the agent will accept properly addressed responses accordingly. Within the ini file there are http, ftp and other settings you can use to keep connections open. I don't know...

Well, There used to be a handy pdf with a list of all return codes for all adapters. I believe in the new world you'll need to look at the help menu or the pdf doc related to the adapter. I've kept the original pdf around because it covers most codes and its a one-stop-shop for those oncall people t...

Are you looking for a tool or consult? I'd put the most emphasis on what it is you want to do. While all of the tools perform data transformation each has a different strengths. DataStage is probably a better tool if you are running batch operations and are working with large amounts of data tied to...

Well, not to offend the DataStage users, but, Ascential used to try selling me DataStage as a DataStage TX addon/plugin.... used to attend user group meetings in the midwest but they primarily talked about the DataStage line (sorry DataStage users but while they do similar tasks one is not the other...
