Unstructured stage - dynamic ranges

Hello Does anyone know how to set a dynamic range for the unstructured stage. I can pass the range as a parameter into the Range Expression but it doesnt update the Template Data Range. This means every time the Excel sheet changes I lose some data. Has anyone found a workaround for this ? Thanks Wh...

Datastage Health check

Hello I am looking to create a job that checks the health of Datastage before running a job. IBM support say I need to do this manually through the Admin console but I can't check that manually before each run. Has anyone come up with any good ways to check DS and the server before running a job ? T...

Found the answer.

I reconfigured the servers in the etc/mail/sendmail.cf file.

SMTP Server Change

Hello

Our infrastructure team has recently changed our SMTP server from Lotus Notes to Outlook. None of my jobs will allow mails to be sent now.

I have changed the server in the common_event_mail.properties file, but this has not made any difference

Any suggestions

Thanks

Colin

Thanks Ray.

I can't see your full response, but I assume that you are saying to modify the dsx file. I thought I'd tried this before but never see the columns in the DSX file.

Anyway, maybe I can get the IT department to upgrade to 11.7

Global Column Length Change

Hello

I have a varchar(20) that I have to change to a varchar(200). This is across multiple stages in a job and multiple jobs.

I only have Datastage (No metadata workbench etc). Is there some way to do this (simply)?

Thanks

Stored procedure stage with DB2/ZOS 11 array functionality

Andy,

Thanks for this.

Can you elaborate on this technique please ?

Our read/write jobs are already being run in Job Sequences and are called from a main Job Sequence.

Are you suggesting that we add a 3rd layer of Job Sequence calls to this ?

Re: Retry after failure - JDBC connector

We have not been able to get to the bottom of why this is failing. Even though we have installed the latest JDBC connector we still get intermittent failures. I have asked the production team who run the DS script to re-run the script up to 5 times if they get an error code returned from the DS scri...

For an update, I have had a remote session with IBM Support and they were unable to find out why this fails to work.

Even running the OSH manually under debug failed to shed any light.

Next stop. IBM Engineering team.

For reference and completeness, I am adding what we have decided to do after many weeks of discussion. We have two modes for our inserts - full and delta. Full is for an initial run when the business rules have changed and delta for daily differences. Old technique Full mode - Bulk load using DB2 co...
